Throttle Valve Cable And Accelerator Control Cable:
Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the accelerator control cable from the accelerator pedal.
2. Push the accelerator control cable through the bulkhead grommet.
3. Disconnect the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector.
4. Disconnect the [1][2]PCV hose from the Air Cleaner (ACL).
5. Disconnect the one bolt and the wing nut from the Air Cleaner (ACL) to the Throttle Body Fuel Injection (TBI) unit.
6. Remove the Air Cleaner (ACL) from the Throttle Body Fuel Injection (TBI) unit.
7. Disconnect the accelerator control cable from the throttle lever by loosening the cable locknut and the adjusting nut.
8. Disconnect the accelerator control cable from the throttle valve cable by removing the cable protector and loosening the cable locknut and adjusting nut.
9. Remove the accelerator control cable from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Connect the accelerator control cable to the throttle lever and secure with the cable locknut and adjusting nut (do not tighten fully).
2. Connect the accelerator control cable to the throttle valve cable and secure with the cable locknut and adjusting nut (do not tighten fully).
3. Push the accelerator control cable through the bulkhead grommet.
4. Connect the accelerator control cable to the accelerator pedal.
5. Adjust the accelerator control cable. Refer to Accelerator Control Cable Adlustment. Adjustments
6. Connect the [1][2]PCV hose to the Air Cleaner (ACL).
7. Connect the IAT sensor electrical connector.
8. Install the Air Cleaner (ACL) to the TBI unit.
9. Secure the Air Cleaner (ACL) with the one bolt and the wing nut. Tighten the air cleaner assembly nut and bolt to 10 Nm (7.5 lb. ft.).
