Disassembly Procedure

Important: Do not to remove the fuel pressure regulator valve from the TBI unit. The fuel pressure regulator valve is not serviceable. The fuel pressure regulator valve is calibrated at the factory and is not adjustable.

1. Remove the two bolts and the air cleaner bracket from the TBI unit.
2. Remove the two screws and the fuel injector cover (with the electrical connector) from the TBI unit.
3. Remove the fuel injector from the TBI unit.
4. Remove the two screws and the TP sensor from the TBI unit.
5. Remove the two screws to the upper and the lower sections of the TBI unit.
6. Separate the upper and the lower sections of the TBI unit.

Clean
^ Clean the passages and fuel injector chamber with an air nozzle.

Important: The TP sensor, the fuel pressure regulator, the fuel injector, the ISC motor, and any other components containing rubber or throttle shaft seals must NOT be placed in solvents or cleaner bath. The chemical reactions to these parts may result in damage to the component. Do not use drills or wire brushes to clean the air passages or damage to the passages may occur.

Assembly Procedure
1. Install a new gasket to the TBI unit.
2. Install the upper TBI unit to the lower the TBI unit and secure with the two screws. Tighten the TBI unit attaching screws to 3.5 Nm (31 lb. in.).
3. Connect the TP sensor to the TBI unit.
4. Secure the TP sensor to the TBI unit with the two screws. Do not tighten fully.
5. Install the fuel injector to the TBI unit.
6. Install the fuel injector cover to the TBI unit (with the electrical connector) and secure with the two screws.
7. Install the air Cleaner bracket to the TBI unit and secure with the two bolts. Tighten the ACL bracket bolt to 10 Nm (7.5 lb. ft.).
