Fuel Tank Pressure Release Valve: Testing and Inspection

Description:

WARNING: Do not suck air through the Tank Pressure Control Valve tubes/hoses. The Fuel vapor inside the Tank Pressure Control Valve is harmful.

Inspection Procedure
1. Connect a length of hose to the fuel tank side (BLACK side) of the Tank Pressure Control valve.
2. Blow hard into the hose. Air should pass smoothly through the valve from the fuel tank side (BLACK side) to the canister side (ORANGE side) when blown hard.
3. Remove the hose from the fuel tank side (BLACK side) and connect it to the canister side (ORANGE side) of the Tank Pressure Control Valve.
4. Blow easily into the hose. Air should pass smoothly through the valve from the canister side (ORANGE side) to fuel tank side (BLACK side) even when blown softly.
- Replace the Tank Pressure Control valve if it does not pass the above tests.
