Antilock Brake System
The standard brake system uses a single red BRAKE warning indicator located in the instrument cluster. The antilock brake system uses three lamps, the red BRAKE warning indicator, an amber ABS indicator and a blue ABS ACTIVE indicator.NORMAL INDICATOR OPERATION
1. When the ignition switch is turned to the ON position prior to starting the engine, the amber ABS and blue ABS ACTIVE indicators should illuminate for three seconds. The red BRAKE warning indicator will quickly flash on also.
2. As the engine is cranked, the red BRAKE warning indicator and the amber ABS indicator should illuminate steadily.
3. Three seconds after the engine is started, the ABS and the ABS ACTIVE indicators should be off. The red BRAKE warning indicator will go off immediately.
4. Whenever the vehicle is involved in an ABS stop, the ABS ACTIVE indicator will illuminate notifying~ the driver that ABS is in operation. For further information regarding indicator operation, refer to Warning/Indicator Lamps later in this section.
