Overhaul

REMOVAL





1. One bolt and guide tube and guide seal from oil pump.





2. Five screws and rotor plate from oil pump body.





3. Outer and inner rotors from oil pump body.

INSPECT
1. Oil seal lip for fault or other damage. Replace as necessary.
2. Outer and inner rotors, rotor plate and oil pump body for excessive wear or damage. Replace as necessary.

MEASURE





1. Radial clearance between outer rotor and case, using a feeler gage. If radial clearance exceeds its limit of 0.310 mm (0.0122 inch), then replace the outer rotor or case.





2. Side clearance using straight edge and feeler gage. The limit on side clearance is 0.15 mm (0.0059 inch).


INSTALLATION
1. Wash, clean, and dry all disassembled parts.
2. Apply thin coat of engine oil to inner and outer rotors, oil seal lip portion and inside surfaces of oil pump body and plate.
3. Outer and inner rotors to oil pump body.
4. Rotor plate to oil pump body; secure with five screws.
5. Check to be sure that gears turn smoothly by hand.
6. Guide seal and guide tube to oil pump, secure with one bolt. Tighten guide tube bolt to 11 Nm (97 inch lbs.).
