Thermostat Replacement
REMOVAL1. Drain engine cooling system to a level below that of the thermostat housing.
2. Upper radiator hose at thermostat housing cap by releasing hose clamp.
3. Water outlet from housing by removing two retaining bolts.
4. Thermostat and gasket from thermostat housing. Make sure the thermostat air bleed valve is clear. The engine could overheat if this valve becomes clogged. Check the valve seat for foreign matter preventing the valve from seating. Check the thermostat for proper operation.
INSTALLATION
1. Thermostat and new gasket to housing.
2. Water outlet to housing; secure with two retaining bolts. Tighten water outlet retaining bolts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
3. Upper radiator hose to thermostat housing cap; secure with hose clamp.
4. Refill engine cooling system.
