Thermostat Housing Replacement
REMOVAL1. Negative (-) battery cable.
2. Drain engine cooling system to a level below that of the thermostat housing.
3. Upper radiator hose at thermostat housing cap by releasing hose clamp.
4. Water outlet from housing by removing two retaining bolts.
5. Thermostat and gasket from thermostat-housing.
6. Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor.
7. Thermostat housing and gasket from cylinder head by removing two bolts.
INSTALLATION
1. Thermostat housing and new gasket to cylinder head; secure with two bolts. Tighten thermostat housing bolts to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
2. ECT sensor.
3. Thermostat and new gasket to thermostat housing.
4. Water outlet to housing; secure with two retaining bolts. Tighten water outlet retaining bolts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
5. Upper radiator hose to thermostat housing cap; secure with hose clamp.
6. Refill engine cooling system.
7. Negative (-) battery cable.
