Table C ABS Active Indicator on Constantly

Table C: ABS Active Indicator On Constantly:

Table C Schematic:

Circuit Description
The ABS ACTIVE indicator lamp is connected to the GAUGE fuse through CKT 39. This circuit is hot in ON and START ignition switch positions. The Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) turns ON the ABS ACTIVE by grounding CKT 34A/B. When the ignition switch is turned to the ON position, the EBCM turns ON the ABS ACTIVE indicator for 3 seconds for a bulb check. Whenever the vehicle is involved in an ABS event, the EBCM tuns ON the ABS ACTIVE indicator for the duration of the event (and 1-2 seconds after an ABS event), notifying the driver that ABS is in operation.

Diagnostic Aids
The following list contains items that need to be inspected when diagnosing this system:
^ Short to ground between EBCM and the ABS ACTIVE indicator lamp (CKT 34A/B).
^ Faulty EBCM.
Inspect the following harness connectors for backed-out terminals, improper mating, broken locks, improperly formed or damaged terminals, poor terminal to wiring connections or physical damage to the wiring harness before component replacement.
^ EBCM connector C1.
^ I/P cluster C1.
