P. Lower Valve Body Disassembly

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

NOTICE: When disassembling the lower valve body, keep all valve springs, spring seats and plugs with their respective valves. Most valve springs are of different sizes and CANNOT be interchanged. Make sure all parts are clean and dry before assembly.





1. Cooler by-pass valve and cooler by-pass valve spring from lower valve body.
2. One key, 2nd coast modulator valve plug, 2nd coast modulator valve spring and 2nd coast modulator valve from lower valve body.
3. One key, low coast modulator valve plug, low coast modulator valve spring and low coast modulator valve from lower valve body.
4. One key, accumulator control valve plug, accumulator control valve spring and accumulator control valve from lower valve body.
5. One key, reverse control valve plug, reverse control valve spring and reverse control valve from lower valve body.
6. One key, 2-3 shift valve plug, 2-3 shift valve and 2-3 shift valve spring from lower valve body.
7. One key, cut-back valve plug, cut-back valve and cut-back valve spring from lower valve body.
8. One key, primary regulator valve sleeve, primary regulator valve No.2 plunger, primary regulator valve No.1 plunger, primary regulator valve spring, primary regulator valve spring seat and primary regulator valve from lower valve body.

Clean
- All lower valve body components and dry thoroughly.

Inspect
- All valves for cracks, scoring or other damage. Replace as necessary.
- All valve springs for damage or distortion. Replace as necessary.
- Lower valve body valve bores for scoring or cracks. Replace as necessary.

Measure

- Tool Required:
- J 26900-6 Dial Caliper





- Free length and outer coil diameter of all lower valve body valve springs using a J 26900-6. If spring free length is not as specified, replace as necessary.





- Lower valve body valve key sizes of each valve key using a J 26900-6 to ensure correct assembly.
