Chart A Air Bag Indic Flashes Continuously With Key In ACC/on
Diagnostic Chart:
Wiring Diagram:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The ECU-B fuse supplies system voltage at all times through the "AIR BAG" indicator, to the center sensor assembly AIR BAG indicator input, terminal "8." When the ignition switch is turned to "ACC," system voltage is applied from the CIG & RADIO fuse to the center sensor assembly at the "DC-DC converter" input, terminal "10." The center sensor responds by illuminating the "AIR BAG" indicator for approximately six seconds while performing tests on the SRS. The IGN fuse supplies system voltage to the center sensor assembly terminal "9." when the ignition switch is turned to the "ON" or "START" positions.
CHART TEST DESCRIPTION
Numbers below refer to circled numbers on the diagnostic chart.
1. This test checks to see if junction connector 3 is faulty.
2. This test checks for a short to ground in TC1 and TC2 CKTs.
3. This test determines whether the fault is due to a short to ground in TC3 CKT or a faulty center sensor assembly.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
An intermittent condition is likely to be caused by a short to ground in the TC CKT or a poor connection at junction connector 3.
