EGR Valve: Service and Repair
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT1. Negative (-) battery cable.
2. Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector.
^ Loosen the Air Cleaner (ACL) hose clamp bolt.
3. Four cap clips from ACL.
4. ACL hose and cap from engine compartment.
5. EGR Vacuum Regulator Solenoid valve-to-EGR valve vacuum hose from EGR valve and EGR hose from bottom of EGR Pressure Transducer.
6. Two nuts, gasket and EGR valve from vehicle.
^ Inspect EGR valve for heavy carbon deposits and sticking. Replace as necessary.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. New gasket and EGR valve to intake manifold; secure with two nuts.
2. EGR Vacuum Regulator Solenoid-to-EGR valve vacuum hose to EGR valve and EGR hose to bottom of the EGR Pressure Transducer.
3. ACL hose and cap to engine compartment.
4. Four cap clips to ACL. Tighten ACL hose clamps bolt to 2.5 Nm (24 lb in).
5. IAT sensor electrical connector.
6. Negative (-) battery cable. Tighten negative (-) battery cable-to-negative (-) battery terminal retainer to 15 Nm (11 lb ft).
