Ignition Cable: Service and Repair

Secondary Ignition Wiring:






SECONDARY WIRING REPLACEMENT

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative (-) battery cable.
2. Secondary (spark plug) wire(s) from wire retainers.

Secondary Wires And Spark Plugs:





3. Secondary (spark plug) wire(s) from spark plugs.
4. Plastic lock retainers at distributor cap from secondary (spark plug) wire(s).

Secondary Wires And Distributor Cap:





5. Secondary (spark plug) wire(s) from distributor cap.

IMPORTANT: Note wire placement to cap, and routing to engine, so as to maintain correct firing order arid proper clearances to engine parts that could cause damage to wiring.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Secondary (spark plug) wire(s) to distributor cap.
2. Plastic lock retainers at distributor cap to secondary (spark plug) wire(s).
3. Secondary (spark plug) wire(s) to spark plugs.
4. Secondary (spark plug) wire(s) to wire retainers.
5. Negative (-) battery cable. Tighten negative (-) battery cable-to-negative (-) battery terminal retainer to 15 Nm (11 lb. ft.).
