Without Pre-Catalytic Converter

Exhaust System Components:












FRONT PIPE/THREE WAY CATALYTIC CONVERTER ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT

NOTE: When installing a new exhaust system component, always use new gaskets and seals.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

Raise and suitably support vehicle.

1. Two bolts and front pipe/TWC assembly from exhaust manifold.
2. Two nuts and front pipe/TWC assembly from resonator/muffler/tail pipe assembly.
3. Hanger supporting TWC and remove front pipe/TWC assembly from vehicle.

CLEAN
Gasket and seal mating surfaces

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Front pipe/TWC assembly to vehicle; support TWC with hanger.
2. Front pipe/TWC assembly with a new gasket to resonator/muffler/tail pipe assembly; secure with two nuts. Do not tighten fully.
3. Front pipe/TWC assembly with a new seal to exhaust manifold; secure with two bolts. Do not tighten fully.

ADJUST
Align all system components properly to prevent any noise or vibrations before tightening fasteners.

TIGHTEN
^ Front pipe/TWC assembly-to-exhaust manifold bolts to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).
^ Front pipe/TWC assembly-to-resonator/muffler/tail pipe assembly nuts to 35 Nm (26 lb ft).

Lower vehicle.
