With Pre-Catalytic Converter

Exhaust System Components:

DESCRIPTION
This vehicle is equipped with two catalytic converters. The pre-catalytic converter is referred to as a Warm-Up Three-Way Catalytic Converter (WU/TWC). The second TWC is welded to the front exhaust pipe and referred to as the TWC assembly.

The catalytic converters are emission control devices added to the exhaust system to reduce pollutants from the exhaust gas stream. The catalysts have coatings that contain platinum and rhodium. The three way catalyst lowers the levels of oxides of nitrogen (NOx) as well as hydrocarbons (HC) and carbon monoxide (CO).

CAUTION: The catalytic converters require the use of unleaded fuel only, or damage to the catalyst may result.

WARNING: Prolonged operation with a misfiring or flooded engine may cause the catalytic converters to overheat. This could cause damage either to the catalyst Itself or the operating vehicle and possible personal injury.
