Control System Integrity Test
This road test will determine whether a problem lies in the electronic control system or the transaxle itself. This test should always be performed to distinguish a failure in the electronic control system from an internal transaxle failure.1. Raise and suitably support vehicle.
Solenoid Wire Harness Connector:
2. Disconnect the solenoid wire harness connector from the solenoid wire harness.
3. Lower vehicle.
4. Perform the "Manual Gear Range Selection" portion of the "Road Test Procedure" in this section.
5. Raise and suitably support vehicle.
6. Reconnect the solenoid wire harness connector to the solenoid wire harness.
7. Lower vehicle.
8. Repeat the "Manual Gear Range Selection" portion of the "Road Test Procedure" in this section.
Evaluation
Compare the results of both road tests with and without the solenoid wire harness connected. If the transaxle operates normally with the electronic control system disabled, but malfunctions with the electronic control system connected, the problem lies in the electronic control system. If the transaxle is still malfunctioning with the electronic control system disabled, the problem lies within the transaxle itself.
