Intake Manifold: Service and Repair

Refer to Fig. 4 for SOHC engine breakdown.
1. Remove battery ground cable, then ignition coil wires.
2. Remove accelerator cable from throttle valve and common chamber, then two cable harness connectors at lefthand shock tower.
3. Disconnect cable harness from intake air control valve, MAT and TPS sensors.
4. Remove breather hose from intake air duct, then intake air duct from throttle valve and PCV hose from the cylinder head cover.
5. Remove EGR valve and canister vacuum hoses from throttle valve, then the EGR pipe from EGR valve and exhaust manifold.
6. Remove common chamber bracket and throttle valve assembly attaching bolts, then the throttle valve.
7. Remove coolant bypass pipe clip bolt and MAP sensor from common chamber.
8. Remove brake booster and canister vacuum hoses from common chamber and throttle valve.
9. Remove pressure regulator and EGR vacuum hoses from common chamber.
10. Remove engine hanger bolt, then the common chamber retaining nuts and bolts.
11. Remove common chamber from engine assembly.
12. Reverse procedure to install.
