Thermostat: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Drain cooling system.
3. Disconnect ignition wire from ignition coil.
4. Remove distributor cap from distributor and set aside.
5. Disconnect lower radiator hose from thermostat housing cap.
6. Disconnect EGR pipe bracket from thermostat housing.
7. Disconnect EGR pipe from exhaust manifold.
8. Disconnect upper radiator hose from thermostat housing.
9. Remove thermostat housing cap and thermostat from thermostat housing.
10. Clean both gasket surfaces thoroughly.
11. Reverse procedure to install.
