Manifold Gage Set:

The manifold gage is another device used to test the integrity of the A/C system. It tests the vacuum and pressure of both the high and low sides of the system. Use the manifold gage under the following conditions:

1. Temperature of inlet air is 30 to 35°C (86 to 95°F).
2. Engine running at 1,500 rpm.
3. Blower fan speed is set to "HIGH."
4. Temperature control set to "COOL." Normal readings are as follows:
^ Low-pressure side-1.5 to 2.0 kg/cm2 (21 to 28 psi, 196 kPa).
^ High-pressure side-14.5 to 15 kg/cm2 (206 to 213 psi, 1422 to 1471 kPa).
