Ignition Switch Circuit:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION:

The ECM receives a 12 volt signal when the starter is in the cranking position. If the signal is not present, and engine speed is greater than 800 rpm, Code 43 will then set.

TEST DESCRIPTION: Numbers below refer to circled numbers on the diagnostic chart.

1. Battery voltage should be present on the BLACK/WHITE wire while the engine is cranking.

2. When the ignition switch is released (engine running) no voltage should be present on BLACK/WHITE wire.
