Gearshift Lever










1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.

2. Rotate the gearshift knob counterclockwise, remove the gearshift knob and position the center console finish panel aside.





3. Remove the driveshaft.

4. Remove the 4 subframe cross brace bolts and the subframe cross brace.
- To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).






5. Using a suitable transmission jack, support the transmission.

6. Remove the crossmember.

7. Lower the transmission.

8. Remove the 2 gearshift lever nuts.
- To install, tighten to 11 Nm (97 lb-in).






9. Remove the gearshift lever assembly.
1. Remove the gearshift lever bolt.
- To install, tighten to 15 Nm (133 lb-in).

2. Remove the gearshift lever-to-transmission bolt.
- To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

3. Remove the gearshift lever assembly from the transmission by pulling towards the rear of the vehicle.






10. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Before installing the center console finish panel, lightly pull up on the gearshift lever boot to fully seat the gearshift lever boot in the pan.
