Removal
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Jacking and Lifting Service and Repair.
2. Remove the clutch. For additional information, refer to Clutch Removal and Replacement.
3. NOTE: The dual mass flywheel normally has up to a total of 14 degrees (6.5 ring gear teeth) maximum rotational freeplay between the primary (bolted to crankshaft) and the secondary mass (clutch disc face).
Remove the bolts and the dual mass flywheel.
Installation
1. NOTE: One of the 8 flywheel holes are offset so the flywheel can only be installed in one position.
Install the dual mass flywheel and the 8 bolts and tighten in sequence shown.
- Tighten to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft).
2. Install the clutch. For additional information, refer to Clutch Removal and Replacement.
3. After completing the repairs, use the scan tool to perform the Misfire Monitor Neutral Profile Correction procedure following the on-screen instructions.
