ASMT Controls - Hesitation/Harsh 1-2 Shifts
TSB 11-9-209/07/11
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFT FEEL
FORD:
2011 Fiesta
The article supersedes TSB 11-5-13 to update the Title, Issue Statement and Service Procedure.
ISSUE
Some 2011 Fiesta vehicles equipped with a automatic transmission may exhibit a hesitation when accelerating from a low speed after coast down, harsh or late 1-2 upshift, harsh shifting during low speed tip-in or tip-out maneuvers, and/or engine RPM flare while coasting to a stop. This vehicle has a manual transmission that is automatically shifted. These are normal characteristics of an automatically shifted manual transmission. There will always be a certain amount of engine RPM flare while coasting to a stop.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to improve upon these conditions.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
