1. Remove the battery. For additional information, refer to Battery.
2. Release the 2 wiring harness pushpins, then remove the 3 battery tray nuts and the battery tray.
3. Remove the intake air hose.
1 Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose.
2 Disconnect the booster bleed hose.
3 Loosen the clamps and remove the intake air hose.
4. Remove the 2 resonator bolts and the resonator.
^ To install, tighten to 11 Nm (8 ft. lbs.).
5. Disconnect the PCM electrical connectors.
6. Remove the PCM bolt and nut and the PCM.
7. Remove the 3 PCM/battery support bracket bolts.
8. Install the special tools.
9. Remove the 5 LH transaxle support insulator nuts and the LH transaxle support insulator with the PCM/battery support bracket.
^ To install, tighten the center nut to 150 Nm (111 ft. lbs.).
^ Tighten the outer nuts to 48 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).
10. Remove the 3 LH transaxle support insulator bolts and the rear engine mount bracket.
^ To install, tighten to 80 Nm (59 ft. lbs.).
11. Disconnect the reverse lamp switch electrical connector.
12. Pressing the locking tab, disconnect the gearshift cables from the transaxle.
1 Disconnect the shift cable from the shift mass.
2 Disconnect the selector cable from the selector lever.
13. NOTE: Make sure the transaxle is in the NEUTRAL position.
Position the transaxle in the NEUTRAL position. Remove the 6 selector mechanism bolts and the selector mechanism.
^ To install, tighten the bolts in a star pattern to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).
14. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Apply a bead of gasket maker to the seating surface.
^ Adjust the gearshift cables.
