Normal Operation
The steering column telescopic motor receives information from the potentiometer when a memory position is requested. The potentiometer sends the telescopic motor position information to the instrument cluster where it is stored and is used when several adjustable features are requested. The potentiometer sends the steering column telescopic position to the instrument cluster through circuit 8-AL16 (WH/BK).

Possible Causes
^ circuit 8-AL17 (WH/VT) open, short to voltage or ground
^ telescopic motor potentiometer
^ steering column mechanical component
^ instrument cluster
