GENERATOR







Removal and Installation

CAUTION:
- The generator must be supported by hand after removing the bolts and prior to disconnecting the electrical connector, or damage to the harness may result.
- Care must be taken when removing the generator to prevent damage to the air conditioning (A/C) and cooling lines.


NOTE: The A/C suction line may need to be positioned rearward to ease the removal of the generator.

1. Disconnect the battery.
2. Release the tensioner and position the accessory drive belt off the generator pulley.
3. Remove the front valance panel and air deflector.
4. Remove the A/C suction line clip from the radiator core support.
5. Remove the LH A/C suction line lower bracket bolt and position the bracket rearward.
6. Remove the generator upper bolt.
- To install, tighten to 21 Nm (15 lb-ft).

7. Remove the generator lower nut and bolt.
- To install, tighten to 45 Nm (33 lb-ft).

8. NOTE: Support the generator while disconnecting the electrical connectors.

Position the connector boot aside, remove the generator B+ wire nut, and disconnect the generator B+ wire.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).

9. Disconnect the generator electrical connector.
10. If necessary, remove the 4 bolts and the generator bracket.
- To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).

11. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
