System Specifications

Cylinder Head and Valve Train
Cylinder head gasket surface flatness 0.08 mm (0.003 inch) total
Combustion chamber volume 48.73 ± 2.068-2.018 cc
Camshaft
Lobe lift - intake 9 mm (0.354 inch)
Lobe lift - exhaust 8.4 mm (0.330 inch)
End play 0.100-0.125 mm (0.0003-0.007 inch)





Intake manifold bolts 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)

Camshaft sprocket bolts
Stage 1: Tighten to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.).
Stage 2: Tighten an additional 90 degrees.








Camshaft bearing cap bolts-RH and LH
Tighten the bearing cap bolts in three stages in the sequence shown.
Stage 1: Hand-tighten.
Stage 2: Tighten to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.).
Stage 3: Tighten an additional 90 degrees.







Exhaust manifold bolts-RH and LH 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)

Exhaust manifold heat shield bolts 3 Nm (27 inch lbs.)
Exhaust manifold heat shield stud bolts 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.)

NOTE: The cylinder head bolts are a torque-to-yield design and must not be reused. Always use new bolts.

NOTE: Lightly oil the new cylinder head bolts and allow to drain for a few minutes before installing.





RH head cylinder head bolts
Stage 1: Tighten bolts 1 through 10 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)
Stage 2: Tighten bolts 1 through 10 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.)
Stage 3: Tighten bolts 1 through 10 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.) and an additional 90 degrees.
Stage 4: Tighten bolts 1 through 10 an additional 90 degrees.





2 end bolts: tighten in 2 stages.
Stage 1 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)
Stage 2 additional 90 degrees.





LH side cylinder head bolts
Stage 1: Tighten bolts 1 through 10 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)
Stage 2: Tighten bolts 1 through 10 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.)
Stage 3: Tighten bolts 1 through 10 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.) and an additional 90 degrees.
Stage 4: Tighten bolts 1 through 10 additional 90 degrees.





2 end bolts: tighten in 2 stages.
Stage 1 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)
Stage 2 Tighten an additional 90 degrees.
