Normal Operation
The instrument cluster monitors the multifunction switch position through hardwired circuitry and the odometer rolling count status from the powertrain control module (PCM) over the communication network. When the multifunction switch is in the RH or LH turn signal position, and the vehicle is driven 0.8 kilometers (0.5 miles) the instrument cluster provides an audible chime at a rate of 60 chimes per minute.
