Shifter A/T: Service and Repair

Selector Lever

Removal
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.





2. Disconnect the transmission shift cable eyelet from the transmission selector lever arm and the retainer from the selector lever assembly front bracket.





3. Remove the console shifter bezel.





4. Remove the 2 screws and the center console top finish panel.






5. NOTE: Passenger side center console kick panel shown, driver side similar.

Remove the driver and passenger center console kick panels.
6. Remove 4 screws and position the center console base aside.





7. Disconnect the electrical connector, remove the 2 nuts and the 2 screws. Carefully lift the transmission selector lever assembly from the vehicle.

Installation





1. Position the transmission selector lever assembly in the vehicle and install the 2 nuts and the 2 screws.
^ Tighten to 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.).

2. Position the center console base and install the 6 screws.





3. Install the driver and passenger side center console kick panels.





4. Install the center console top finish panel and the 2 screws.





5. Install the console shifter bezel.





6. Install the transmission shift cable in the transmission selector lever assembly and connect the shift cable eyelet to the selector lever arm.
7. Verify the shift cable is adjusted correctly.
