Throttle Cable/Linkage: Service and Repair

ACCELERATOR CABLE

Removal and Installation







1. Remove the hose routing pin-type retainer, the retaining screw and the pin-type retainer.
- Remove the snow shield.







2. Release the clip and remove the accelerator cable from the throttle body.







3. Rotate the cable grommet counterclockwise and release the cable from the throttle body bracket.







4. Detach the cable from the retainer clip.







5. Remove the cable grommet from the firewall.







6. Remove the footwell trim panel.







7. Disconnect the accelerator cable pedal grommet from the accelerator pedal.







8. Attach a draw cord to the accelerator cable to assist with installation.
- Remove the accelerator cable.

9. NOTE: The rubber grommets must be installed into the bulkhead and throttle body bracket before the accelerator cable pedal grommet is installed into the pedal.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
