Cylinder head bolts

NOTE: The cylinder head bolts are a torque-to-yield design and must not be reused. Always use new bolts.

Stage 1 1 through 10 to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)
Stage 2 1 through 10 to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.)
Stage 3 1 through 10 to 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.) and an additional 90°
Stage 4 1 through 10 an additional 90°
Stage 5 11 and 12 to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)
Stage 6 11 and 12 an additional 90°





Stage 7 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)
Stage 8 additional 90°

Right Side:

Camshaft bearing caps bolts.

CAUTION: The camshaft bearing caps are positional and must be installed in their original locations and orientation or engine damage can occur.

Stage 1 Hand-tighten.
Stage 2 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.)
Stage 3 additional 90°

Exhaust manifold Bolts:





NOTE: RH is shown, LH is similar.





Intake Manifold bolts

Crankshaft pulley new bolt.
Stage 1 80 Nm (59 ft. lbs.)
Stage 2 additional 80°





Flexplate bolts.
Stage 1 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.)
Stage 2 10 Nm (81 ft. lbs.)





Engine front cover bolts.
Stage 1 5 Nm (44 inch lbs.)
Stage 2 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.)

Coolant Pump Bolts 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.) then rotate an additional 90°.

Coolant Pump Pulley Bolts 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.) then rotate an additional 45°

Camshaft sprocket bolt:
Stage 1 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.)
Stage 2 additional 90°





Oil pan bolts.
Stage 1 5 Nm (44 inch lbs.)
Stage 2 12 Nm (9 ft. lbs.)
