Description and Operation (Seats)

Driver Seat
The driver seat has the following features:
- power 6-way seat adjust
- manual lumbar
- manual seat recline
- seat side air bag
- 2-way adjustable head restraint
- heated seat (optional)

Passenger Seat
The passenger seat has the following features:
- power 2-way seat adjust
- manual seat recline
- seat side air bag
- 2-way adjustable head restraint
- child safety seat tether anchor (near top of seat)
- heated seat (optional)
- lower anchors and tethers for children (LATCH) attachment points

Seats - Power Adjustment
Adjustment of the seat is accomplished with the seat control switch, which is located on the outboard side of the seat on the side shield.

Driver Seat - Manual Lumbar Support
The driver seat manual lumbar is adjusted by a knob, which is mounted on the front side of the seat cushion.

Side Air Bag
Driver and passenger seat side air bags are attached to the seat backrest frame. For diagnostic information or if the side air bag has been deployed, refer to Air Bag Systems.

The seat backrest trim covers cannot be repaired. If the seat backrest covers need to be repaired, an entirely new cover must be installed. Cleaning the seat backrest cover is permissible.

If a side air bag deployment took place, a new seat back pad, trim cover and side air bag module must be installed. Install a new seat backrest frame if necessary.

Heated Seats
This system allows the electrical heating of the front seats on demand.

The components of the system are:
- the seat heating elements are located in the seat cushion and seat backrest.
- the heated seat module is located on the seat cushion flame bottom.
- the heated seat control switches are located on the center dash.
- the temperature sensors are located in the cushion heating elements.

The heated seat system:
- will only operate with the ignition switch in RUN.
- will operate with battery voltage as low as 9 volts.
- will maintain a temperature automatically once it is selected.
- has a low and high setting.
