Inspection and Verification
1. Verify the customer's concern by operating the ignition switch and the multifunction switch on the steering column.





2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage.
3. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause before proceeding to the next step.
4. If the diagnostic tool does not power up, refer to the diagnostic tool manual.
5. Carry out the DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS TEST. If the diagnostic tool responds with:
^ CKT914, CKT915 or CKT70-ALL ECUS NO RESP/NOT EQUIP, refer to Module Communications Network.
^ NO RESP/NOT EQUIP for instrument cluster (IC), refer to Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators.
6. If no DTCs related to the concern are retrieved, proceed to the Symptom Chart to continue diagnostics. Steering Column Switches
