Hood Latch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL







1. Remove the hood latch bolts.

NOTE: Mark the hood latch prior to removal of bolts.







2. Remove the hood latch.
1 Release the cable conduit.
2 Disconnect the cable.

INSTALLATION







1. Connect the hood latch release cable and conduit.
1 Connect the cable.
2 Engage the cable conduit.







2. Position the hood latch and install the bolts.







3. Align the hood latch.
1 Loosen the latch bolts enough to allow for movement of the hood latch.
2 Align the hood latch with the hood latch striker.







4. Tighten the hood latch bolts.
5. Verify the hood latch striker is fully engaged.
^ Repeat the install procedure as necessary to make sure the hood latch is aligned correctly.
^ Apply multi-purpose grease spray to the hood latch assembly.
