Rear Door Window Glass: Service and Repair
REMOVALAll Vehicles
1. Remove the door trim panel.
2. Remove the side impact bolster.
3. Detach the door speaker (if equipped).
4. Disconnect the speaker electrical connector and remove the door speaker.
5. Detach the door latch release handle.
6. Detach the watershield.
^ Using a plastic knife (disposable cutlery), cut through the Butyl strip to enable the watershield to be peeled back.
CAUTION: Do not touch the adhesive surface as re-bonding will be impaired.
7. Remove the door glass top run retainer.
Vehicles with manual windows
8. Install the window regulator handle.
Vehicles with power windows
9. Connect the door glass operating switch electrical connector.
All Vehicles
10. Align the regulator clamp with the access hole (power window shown).
11. Detach the window glass from the regulator.
1. Push out the pin.
2. Push out the sleeve.
3. Remove the glass from the regulator clamp.
12. Support the glass, lower the glass and regulator to the lowest position.
13. Position the lower part of the door glass top run outside the door.
14. Remove the window glass.
NOTE: To aid removal of the door glass, stand on the inner side of the door. Make sure the glass is removed from the inside of the door.
INSTALLATION
All vehicles
1. Install the window glass in the door.
2. Attach the window glass to the regulator clamp.
1. Push in the sleeve.
2. Push in the pin.
3. Push the window glass firmly down to engage the pin into the regulator clamp.
3. Position the lower part of the door glass top run on the inside of the door.
4. Close the window.
5. Install the door glass top run retainer.
6. Attach the watershield.
7. Attach the door latch release handle.
8. Connect the door speaker electrical connector.
9. Install the door speaker.
10. Install the side impact bolster.
Vehicles with manual windows
11. Remove the window regulator handle.
Vehicles with power windows
12. Disconnect the door glass operating switch electrical connector.
All vehicles
13. Install the door trim panel.
