Special Tool(s)

Disassembly





1. Remove the retaining ring.





2. Using the special tools, remove the countershaft bearing. Discard the bearing.

Assembly





1. CAUTION: The funnel side of the bearing outer race must face inward toward the extension housing.

Using the special tools, install the new countershaft bearing.
^ Remove the special tools.





2. Apply petroleum jelly to the countershaft bearing.
3. Install the retaining ring.
