With Side Airbag
REMOVAL1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
^ Wait one minute.
WARNING: WAIT AT LEAST ONE MINUTE AFTER DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY GROUND CABLE BEFORE DISCONNECTING ANY SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THIS INSTRUCTION MAY CAUSE PREMATURE DEPLOYMENT AND MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY.
2. Remove the front seat cushion.
3. Remove the recliner lever.
^ Remove the screw.
4. Remove the outboard seat trim.
1. Detach the clip on the back edge.
2. Lift the outboard seat trim clear of the retainers.
5. Detach the side air bag module wiring harness from the 5-way under seat connector block.
6. Detach the wiring harness from the seat frame.
CAUTION: Note the position and routing of the wiring harness(es) to aid assembly. An incorrectly routed wiring harness may lead to the wires becoming damaged on the seat mechanism.
7. Remove the pyrotechnic safety belt pretensioner (if equipped).
8. Remove the inboard seat trim.
^ Remove the pin.
^ Remove the screw.
NOTE: The plastic retaining clip may break on removal. Always install a new clip on reassembly to prevent loose trim.
9. Remove the front seat backrest.
1. Remove the nuts.
2. Slide the backrest to the side to remove it from the seat base frame.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
CAUTION: Make sure the seat wiring harness is correctly routed to prevent the harness becoming trapped.
NOTE: When installing the inboard seat trim a new clip should be used.
