Ignition Coil: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.







2. Disconnect engine control sensor wiring from the ignition coil and the radio ignition interference capacitor.







3. Squeeze the locking tabs and twist while pulling upward to disconnect the spark plug wires.







4. Remove the bolts ignition coil and the radio ignition interference capacitor from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION







1. Position the ignition coil and the radio ignition interference capacitor onto the bracket.







2. Install the bolts.
3. Apply dielectric compound to all the ignition wire boots.







4. Install each spark plug wire connector to the correct terminal on the ignition coil. Make sure the boots are fully seated.







5. Connect the engine control sensor wiring to the ignition coil and the radio ignition interference capacitor.
6. Connect the battery ground cable.
