Trunk / Liftgate Latch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

NOTE: Coupe shown, Sedan similar.

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

NOTE: The luggage compartment lid latch system is equipped with a mechanical interior release handle.







2. Remove the luggage compartment latch cover bolt.







3. Remove the luggage compartment latch cover.
1 Remove the screw.
2 Remove the pin-type retainer.
3 Remove the luggage compartment latch cover.







4. Disconnect the luggage compartment door ajar switch.
1 Separate the luggage compartment door ajar switch electrical connector from the luggage compartment door.
2 Disconnect the electrical connector.







5. Disconnect the luggage compartment remote release motor.
1 Separate the luggage compartment remote release motor electrical connector from the luggage compartment door.
2 Disconnect the electrical connector.







6. Disconnect the luggage compartment lock actuator rod from bellcrank.







7. Remove the luggage compartment door latch.
1 Remove the bolts.
2 Remove the luggage compartment door latch.

INSTALLATION

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
