Fuel Injector Wiring Harness: Service and Repair
REMOVALWARNING: DO NOT SMOKE OR CARRY LIGHTED TOBACCO OR OPEN FLAME OF ANY TYPE WHEN WORKING ON OR NEAR ANY FUEL RELATED COMPONENTS. HIGHLY FLAMMABLE MIXTURES ARE ALWAYS PRESENT AND MAY IGNITE. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY.
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the upper intake manifold. For additional information, refer to Engine.
3. Disconnect the 42 pin engine bulkhead electrical connector.
^ Loosen the bolt.
4. Separate the wiring harness from the dash panel.
5. Disconnect the RH Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) electrical connector.
6. Disconnect the following electrical connectors:
^ Throttle Position (TP) sensor
^ Idle Air Control (IAC) valve
7. Disconnect the following electrical connectors:
^ Differential pressure feedback EGR transducer
^ Engine Vacuum Regulator (EVR)
8. Disconnect the solenoid electrical connector (if equipped).
9. Disconnect the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor electrical connector.
10. Disconnect the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.
11. Disconnect the six fuel injector electrical connectors.
12. Disconnect the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector.
13. Disconnect the engine oil pressure sender electrical connector.
14. Disconnect the fuel pressure sensor electrical connector.
15. Disconnect the following electrical connectors:
^ Ignition coil
^ Radio ignition interference capacitor
16. Disconnect the LH Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) electrical connector.
17. Remove the wiring harness:
^ Separate the wiring harness from the fuel supply manifold.
^ Separate the wiring harness from the rear of lower intake manifold.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
NOTE: When the battery is disconnect and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 mi) or more to relearn the strategy.
