Gearshift Rail and Fork

Disassembly





1. Rotate the third/fourth gear shifter fork and slide it off of the main shift rail. Repeat for the first/second gear shifter fork.





2. Remove the gear shift plate.





3. Remove the gearshift fork inserts.





4. Remove the gear selector interlock sleeve.





5. Remove the split pin and remove the selector assembly.

Assembly

1. CAUTION: Support the shift rail to prevent damage to the parts.





Install the selector body assembly.
1. Position the selector body assembly on the shift rail with the split pin hole toward the long end of the shift rail.
2. Align the split pin hole with the middle hole in the shift rail.
3. Install the split pin.





2. Install the gear selector interlock sleeve with the double cut collar at the top.





3. Install the gear shift fork inserts.

4. Note: The first/second gear shifter fork is the larger of the two gear shifter forks.





Insert the gear shift plate in the first/second gear shifter fork from the right and with the locating tab facing upward.





5. Insert the gear shift plate in the third/fourth gear shifter fork from the left and with the ridge facing left.





6. Install the first/second gear shifter fork from the long side of the main shift rail. Align the gear selector interlock sleeve with the gear shift plate.

7. Note: Position the first/second gear shift plate below the third/fourth gear shift plate as viewed with the gear shifter forks facing downward.





Install the third/fourth gear shifter fork from the short end of the shift rail. Align the third/fourth gear shift plate with the gear selector interlock sleeve.
