Output Shaft Speed (OSS) Sensor
Removal1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Place a drain pan beneath the Output Shaft Speed (OSS) sensor.
3. Remove the OSS sensor.
- Disconnect the OSS sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the bolt.
- Inspect the OSS bore.
4. Inspect the O-ring seal for nicks or cuts; install a new as necessary.
Installation
NOTE: Apply a light coat of petroleum jelly to the O-ring before installation.
1. Install the OSS sensor.
- Connect the OSS sensor electrical connector.
2. Lower vehicle.
3. Check the transmission fluid level, add Automatic Transmission Fluid or equivalent meeting MERCON(R) V specification, as necessary.
4. Start the engine and move the transaxle range selector lever through all gear positions.
