Principles of Operation
The daytime running lamps are switched on when the following conditions apply:^ Ignition is switched on.
^ The lamp switch is set to "Off" or "Park".
Dipped beams with reduced intensity are used as daytime running lamps. To do this, a resistance circuit is connected in series with the dipped beam lamps. As a result of the resistance circuit, the voltage at the lamps and therefore the brightness of the lamps is reduced. The daytime running lamps can be deactivated under the following conditions:
^ Ignition is switched off.
^ Lamp switch not in "Off" or "Park".
