Compressor Clutch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove the air conditioning compressor.







2. Detach the compressor clutch drive plate (FS10 compressor shown).
- Remove the bolt, holding the drive plate with a retaining strap whilst doing so.







3. Detach the compressor pulley.
1. Remove the pulley snap-ring
2. Remove the spacers.







4. Pull off the compressor magnetic coil assembly (FS10 compressor shown).

NOTE: Mark the position of the plug connection in relation to the compressor housing.

INSTALLATION







1. Fit the compressor magnetic coil assembly (FS10 compressor shown).
- Pull on the compressor magnetic coil assembly as far as the stop using a bolt (M6x30) with washer, a suitable thrust washer and the drive plate.

3. Thrust washer
4. Magnetic coil assembly

NOTE:
- Do not skew the magnetic coil assembly of the compressor when fitting it to the compressor seating.
- Remove the bolt, drive plate and thrust washer after fitting the magnetic coil assembly.







2. Attach the compressor pulley.
- Install the pulley snap-ring.

NOTE: Install a new pulley snap-ring.







3. Attach the compressor drive plate.

2. Attach the compressor drive plate and check the air gap A at several points on the circumference.
3. To adjust the air gap A, use a shim from shim set.

NOTE: Air gap A between the compressor drive plate and the compressor pulley.

4. Install the air conditioning compressor.
5. Evacuate and refill the air conditioning system.
6. Check the operation of the air conditioning system.
