Rear Cross-Member: Service and Repair
RemovalAll Vehicles
1. Remove the stabilizer bar.
2. CAUTION: Make sure the wheel knuckles are supported before removing the suspension arms.
Remove the rear lower arms.
3. Remove the front lower arms.
4. Remove the upper arms.
5. NOTE: Support the exhaust system to prevent damage.
Detach the exhaust system bracket.
3-Door
6. Disconnect the EVAP emission canister vent solenoid electrical connector.
7. Detach the vent pipes.
8. Remove the EVAP emission canister.
All Vehicles
9. Using a suitable transmission jack, support the rear crossmember.
10. Remove the crossmember retaining bolts (three bolts each side).
11. Lower and remove the crossmember.
Installation
All Vehicles
1. Locate the crossmember.
2. Install the crossmember retaining bolts (three bolts each side).

3. Install the EVAP emission canister.
4. Attach the vent pipes.
5. Connect the EVAP emission canister vent solenoid electrical connector.
All Vehicles
6. Install the exhaust system.
7. NOTE: Do not lower the suspension from the design height.
Install the upper arms.
8. NOTE: Do not lower the suspension from the design height.
Install the front lower arms.
9. NOTE: Do not lower the suspension from the design height.
Install the rear lower arms.
10. Install the stabilizer bar.
11. Check the rear wheel alignment.
