Vehicle Certification Label

Vehicle Certification Label
The vehicle certification label, mounted on the LH front door lock face panel, provides the following information:
- engine identification
- engine code (letter or number) used to determine the engine type and size

On 3.0L (2V) and 3.4L-SHO engines, an engine identification label is also attached to the engine. The symbol code on the identification label identifies each engine for determining parts usage; for instance, engine displacement liters and model year.

Engine parts often differ within a safety certification label family. Verification of identification codes will make sure that the proper parts are obtained. These codes contain all pertinent information relating to the following:
- dates
- optional equipment
- revisions

The Ford Master Parts Catalog contains a complete listing of the codes and their application.
