Bushing-Shift Rail

Special Tools:

Disassembly

Note: The following procedure should only be carried out when necessary. After carefully inspecting each bushing, disassemble only those requiring further inspection.





1. Using the special tool, remove the flywheel housing shift rail bushing and discard.





2. Using a brass drift, remove the case shift rail bushing.





3. Using a brass drift, remove the extension housing shift rail bushing.

Assembly





1. Install the flywheel housing shift rail bushing.
^ Apply Threadlock and Sealer EOAZ-19554 AA meeting Ford specification WSK-M2G351-A5 (type II) or equivalent to the outside of the shift rail bushing.
^ Using the special tool, install the shift rail bushing.





2. Using the special tool, install the case shift rail bushing.





3. Using the special tool, install the extension housing bushing.
