Installation

1. Install Rotunda 3.4L SHO Engine Lifting Brackets 303-F055 (014-00797) or equivalent.
2. Connect Rotunda Engine Lifting Spreader Bar 303-D089 (D93P-6001-A3) or equivalent to lifting eyes. Support engine.
3. Remove engine from work stand.





4. Install flywheel. Tighten retaining bolts in alternating sequence (across from each other) to 73-87 Nm (54-64 ft. lbs.).
5. Position engine to transaxle.
6. Install two bolts retaining left hand front upper engine support insulator to engine support insulator bracket. Tighten to 60-80 Nm (44-59 ft. lbs.).
7. Install seven right hand front engine support insulator bracket retaining bolts. Tighten to 60-80 Nm (44-59 ft. lbs.).
8. Install right front drive axle assembly to the transaxle and secure to sub-frame.
9. Install upper four engine block to transaxle bolts. Tighten to 40-60 Nm (30-44 ft. lbs.).
10. Connect power steering left turn pressure hose to power steering pump. Tighten to 33-41 Nm (25-30 ft. lbs.).
11. Position power steering left turn pressure hose on surge tank stud and install retaining nut. Tighten retaining nut to 8-12 Nm (71-106 inch. lbs.).
12. Connect engine control sensor wiring to power steering pressure switch.





13. Connect engine control sensor wiring to transmission speed sensor.
14. Connect engine control sensor wiring to main transaxle connector.
15. Connect engine control sensor wiring to secondary air injection pump.





16. Position engine, transaxle and sub-frame assembly on Rotunda Powertrain Lift 014-00765 and Universal Powertrain Removal Bracket 014-00766 or equivalent.
17. Remove engine lifting equipment.
18. Raise engine, transaxle and sub-frame assembly into position in engine compartment.
19. Install four sub-frame retaining bolts. Tighten bolts to 77-103 Nm (57-75 ft. lbs.).
20. Remove Rotunda Powertrain Lift 014-00765 and Universal Powertrain Removal Bracket 014-00766 or equivalent.
21. Install steering gear to steering column intermediate shaft coupling. Tighten pinch bolt to 41-51 Nm (30-37 ft. lbs.).
22. Install lower four engine block to transaxle retaining bolts. Tighten bolts to 40-60 Nm (30-44 ft. lbs.).
23. Install four torque converter to flywheel nuts. Tighten to 27-46 Nm (20-33 ft. lbs.).
24. Install driveshaft assemblies in front wheel knuckle.
25. Install front suspension lower arm to ball joints.
26. Install wheel hub retaining bolts. Tighten to 230-275 Nm (170-202 ft. lbs.).
27. Connect tie rod end to front wheel knuckle.
28. Connect ride level sensors to front suspension lower arm.
29. Connect battery cable to generator. Tighten nut to 9-11 Nm (80-97 inch. lbs.).
30. Install dual three-way converter and pipe.
31. Connect heated oxygen sensor.
32. Connect catalyst monitor sensors.
33. Partially lower vehicle.
34. Install front wheels and tires.
35. Position battery to starter relay cable to cylinder block. Install retaining nut. Tighten nut to 21-29 Nm (16-21 ft. lbs.).
36. Connect. battery to starter relay cable to starter motor.
37. Install lower radiator hose to water pump.
38. Install upper radiator hose to water pump.
39. Install A/C pressure cut-off switch on A/C compressor. Tighten retaining bolt to 17-23 Nm (13-161b-ft).
40. Connect engine control sensor wiring to A/C pressure cut-off switch.
41. Install degas tube on radiator coolant recovery reservoir. Position clamp securely.
42. Install power steering reservoir hose to power steering pump. Position clamp securely.
43. Connect fuel supply and return tubes to fuel injection supply manifold.
44. Connect engine control sensor wiring to canister purge valve solenoid.
45. Install engine ground strap. Tighten bolt securely.
46. Connect engine control sensor wiring to powertrain control module bracket. Tighten connector bolt to 3.7 Nm (32 inch. lbs.).
47. Connect intake manifold to main vacuum connector hose.
48. Connect canister purge valve vacuum hose.
49. Connect heater water hose to heater water tubes. Position clamps securely.
50. Raise vehicle.
51. Connect lower fluid cooler tube to rubber line. Tighten clamp securely.
52. Connect upper speedometer cover to transmission fluid cooler. Tighten clamp securely.
53. Install shift cable in transmission shift cable bracket. Install retaining clip.
54. Install shift cable on manual control lever and install retaining nut. Tighten retaining nut to 20-26 Nm (15-19 ft. lbs.).
55. Connect engine control sensor wiring to Transmission Range (TR) sensor.
56. Connect main engine control sensor wiring connector. Tighten retaining bolt to 3.7 Nm (32 inch. lbs.).
57. Connect speed control actuator cable and accelerator cable to throttle body.
58. Install speed control actuator cable to accelerator cable bracket. Tighten retaining bolt to 5-7 Nm (45-62 inch. lbs.).
59. Install accelerator cable to accelerator cable bracket. Tighten retaining bolt to 5-7 Nm (45-62 inch. lbs.).
60. Install accelerator control splash shield. Tighten retaining bolts to 5-7 Nm (45-62 inch. lbs.).
61. Install cowl top extension.
62. Install intake manifold vacuum supply hose from main vacuum connector.
63. Position main vacuum connector to cowl top extension. Tighten retaining nuts securely.
64. Install front windshield wiper module.
65. Install air cleaner outlet tube and engine air cleaner cover as an assembly.
66. Connect crankcase ventilation tube to air cleaner outlet tube.
67. Connect crankcase ventilation hose to air cleaner outlet tube.
68. Fasten engine air cleaner cover to base.
69. Connect air cleaner outlet tube to throttle body. Tighten clamp to 1.6-2.2 Nm (15-19 inch. lbs.).
70. Connect engine control sensor wiring to mass air flow sensor.
71. Connect engine control sensor wiring to engine air fuel ratio control bracket.





72. Position engine appearance cover and install two bolts and four nuts. Tighten retaining nuts and bolts to 8-12 Nm (71-106 inch. lbs.)
73. Install battery tray.
74. Install battery.
75. Install oil filler cap.
76. Fill and bleed cooling system.
77. Check transaxle fluid level.
78. Charge A/C system.
79. Fill power steering system.
80. Check front end alignment.
81. Run engine.
82. Raise vehicle.
83. Inspect cooling, A/C, transaxle and power steering systems for leaks.
84. Lower vehicle.
