Crankshaft: Description and Operation

The crankshaft is supported on the bottom of the cylinder block by four steel crankshaft main bearings.
- The crankshaft thrust main bearings and crankshaft thrust washer control crankshaft end play.
- Timing chains connect both intake camshafts and exhaust camshafts to the crankshaft.
