Front Door Window Glass: Service and Repair
Upstop and Stabilizer, Door Glass:
Window Regulator, Front Door:
REMOVAL
1. Remove the front door trim panel and watershield.
2. Remove front door belt line inside weatherstrip.
3. Remove the attaching screws and remove the door window glass inner stabilizers.
4. Remove the screws attaching the front door window front up stop brackets and remove the front door window front upstop brackets.
5. Remove one rivet and remove front door belt line outside weatherstrip.
6. Lower the front door window glass to gain access to the front door window channel bracket rivets.
7. Using a drift punch, remove the center pin of each rivet attaching the front door window glass to the front door window channel bracket. Using a 1/4-inch drill, drill out the remainder of the rivet.
CAUTION: Use care when drilling out the rivet to prevent enlarging the front door window channel bracket and spacer holes. This will damage the door window glass channel bracket retainer.
8. Tip front of front door window glass down to clear door filler. Remove front door window glass.
INSTALLATION
1. Position the front door window glass to the front door window regulator. Install two 1/4 inch blind rivets or two 1/4-20 x 1/2 inch hex-head bolts with two 1/4-20 nut and washer assemblies to attach the front door window glass to the front door window regulator. Tighten the bolt and nut to 10-14 Nm (89-123 lb-in). Equivalent metric retainers may also be used.
2. Loosely install the door window glass inner stabilizers and upstops.
3. Install belt line weatherstrips.
NOTE: If adjustment is needed, refer to Adjustments.
4. Cycle the front door window glass to check for proper operation.
5. When front door window glass cycles properly, tighten the stabilizer retaining screws to 10-14 Nm (89-123 lb-in).
6. Install the front door trim panel and watershield.
