Brake Light Switch: Description and Operation

The Brake Pedal Position (BPP) switch:
- Provides power to the stoplamps
- Provides a signal to various other components including:
^ Anti-lock brake control module
^ Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
^ Shift lock actuator
^ Speed control servo
- Is provided power through Circuit 10 (LG/R).
- Is protected by fuse junction panel Fuse 9 (15A).
- When closed (brake pedal applied) provides power to the stoplamps and rear hi-mount lamp through Circuit 810 (R/LG).
- is provided ground (at the stoplamps) through Circuit 57 (BK).
